T’ai Chi: Deepening Our Practice in the Quiet of Winter

Day Retreat with Tom Cushing at the Copper Beech Institute
December 02, 2017 10:00 AM - December 02, 2017 05:00 PM

IDEAL FOR: All levels including beginners

Nature understands that winter is a time to rest, rejuvenate and go dormant with its shorter days and longer nights, but technology (electric lights) enables our desire to live an unbalanced, excessively yang lifestyle year round. Ignoring this natural cycle takes a toll on the body, mind and spirit. We need the renewing, quiet spirit of winter to recover from a year of hard work, stress and energy expenditure. A mindful t’ai chi practice can bring us back to the resting place, the hearth and core of our practice and of ourselves.Come treat yourself to a day of nurturing as Tom shares his practice of connecting the meditative movements of T’ai Chi and qigong with mindful meditation and the quiet mind.
